As was announced in SWZ Maritime's July-August issue, this news post contains a photo album with extra pictures of Abis Esbjerg, Charles Dickes, Libra and Texelstroom.

Abis Esbjerg

In June, the Abis Esbjerg, a ship of the HLV 4400 type was christened and delivered to Abis Shipping. The vessel was built by CIG Shipbuilding Poland. The Abis Esbjerg is a sister ship of the Abis Dunkerque, Dusavik, Arctic Dawn and Indian Dawn and is the fifth vessel out of a total series of six mini heavy lifters. https://www.abisshipping.nl/en

Charles Dickens

On the 8 July, the river cruiser Charles Dickes was christened at the Biesboschhaven, Werkendam, the Netherlands. The ship is practically identical to the William Shakespeare, which was delivered last year. The Charles Dickens was built in eight months' time, a month faster than the William Shakespeare. The river cruiser measures 110 x 11.45 x 2,75 metres and can accommodate 148 passengers.

Libra

The aluminum jet propelled tender Libra was christened 3 July. The tender was built by Barkmeijer Stroobos and No Limit Ships.

Texelstroom

At the end of July, the new TESO ferry the Texelstroom was launched at LaNaval del Norte in Sestao, near Bilbao. From mid March 2016, the ferry will operate on the Den Helder-'t Horntje, Texel route in the Netherlands. The ferry will mainly sail on gas and was designed by C-Job Naval Architects, Hoofddorp, in cooperation with Vripack, Sneek.
