(With video and extra pictures) SWZ Maritime's March issue features a special on offshore renewables. One of the topics is the Acta Orion, a ship designed for the installation of offshore wind farms and currently at work at Gemini Offshore Wind Park.

On 14 June, 2014, Acta Marine contracted CIG Shipbuilding for the design and building of a Wind Farm Support Vessel, also known as Walk-to-Work (W2W) vessel. Together with Acta Marine and Van Oord, CIG Maritime Technology optimised the VG6000-E design to create a vessel specifically suited to the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms.

The DP2 vessel is 108 metres long and 16 metres wide. It offers comfortable accommodation and workspace to 80 passengers. Download the Acta Orion's specs here.
