Japanese authorities quarantined 3700 people on board cruise ship Diamond Princess, after one of the passengers was found to be infected with the new coronavirus. The cruise ship is now docked off the coast of Yokohoma, not far from Tokyo.

The infected man is eighty years old and comes from Hong Kong. He spent three days on the ship and then flew to the Japanese capital Tokyo. After that it turned out that he was infected with the virus.

Medics visit every cabin of the ship to check the temperature and state of health of passengers and crew, according to the Japanese Ministry of Health. People are tested before the Japanese authorities decide whether passengers can leave the ship.

The 115,875 GT cruise ship is owned and operated by Princess Cruises and has a capacity of 2670 passengers.
