So far, twenty people on board the cruise ship Diamond Princess in Japan have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. This was reported by the Japanese Ministry of Health according to broadcaster NHK.

The Diamond Princess has approximately 3700 people on board. The people on the ship in Japan were placed in quarantine after the virus had emerged from a man from Hong Kong, who stayed on the cruise ship for several days. Medics have been monitoring the state of health of the passengers and crew of the Diamond Princess since Monday evening.

At first, the virus was detected in ten other passengers. They have been taken to the hospital. Now, another ten were discovered to be infected.

The ship is anchored near the city of Yokohama. Passengers and crew are not allowed to leave the ship for two weeks. There are three Dutch passengers on board. The Dutch embassy in Tokyo is in close contact with the three Dutchmen.
