Shipyard Royal Niestern Sander in Farmsum, the Netherlands, has side launched the new hydrographic research vessel for Geo Plus. The 41-metre Geo Ranger was designed together with Conoship International and is to be delivered this summer.

The launch took place on Saturday, 7 March. The contract for the Geo Ranger was signed in April 2019. Construction started in September and early February the ship was transported from the construction hall to the quay side to prepare for the launch.

Once delivered, the Geo Ranger will be rented out to parties that perform research, such as dredging companies and companies that build and maintain offshore wind farms.
