Part of the crew of the submarine HNLMS Dolfijn is infected with the coronavirus. The submarine will now return early from a voyage near Scotland.
Fifteen crew members showed mild flu symptoms in recent days, such as coughing and mild fever. A test revealed that eight of them have or have had the coronavirus, according to a spokesman for the Royal Netherlands Navy. Another crew member is suffering from flu symptoms.
The submarine with 58 men on board will arrive in Den Helder at the end of this week, two weeks earlier than planned. The crew will then go into quarantine.
