Multraship will salvage the Urk cutter UK-171. The ship sunk twenty nautical miles north of the Dutch Wadden Island Schiermonnikoog. The crane ship Cormorant is already on site, together with a tugboat.

Due to bad weather on the North Sea, it is still unclear when exactly the fishing cutter will be taken out of the water. However, the ship must be salvaged quickly, because it poses a danger to shipping.

The UK-171 capsized possibly due to heavy or snagged nets. The three-man crew could be rescued by the fishing vessel TH-10 Dirkje from Tholen.
