Hamburg Süd’s container ship Cap San Antonio has hit a ferry dock while leaving the port of Santos in Brazil on Sunday. The ship’s hull was breached with water flowing from the hole, indicating a ballast tank may have been hit.

The 10,500 TEU container ship was headed to the port of Paranagua, some 180 miles south, but now remains in Santos while the accident is investigated and repaired, according to Maritime Bulletin.

Videos (see below) show the ferry dock was basically destroyed and parts of it have sank. They also show workers scrambling to safety. The cause of the accident is as yet unknown.

The Cap San Antonio was built in 2014 and sails under the Danish flag.
